Art for Story’s sake

Putting pen to paper is the point of inception in my artmaking process. I use drawing, sketching and writing to transcribe my thoughts and ideas.

My works come to life on paper. These sketches tell the story of an artwork´s possible development and hence contain the seed of their completeness.

story may begin with letters or lines. Simple shapes and colours could grow into a complete picture, a page in a book, an animation or film, a storyboard or an installation. My works on paper mix visual, text-based, abstract and representational languages.

My two-dimensional works play with figurative fragments in their aesthetic semiotic roles. Through the repetition of imagery and icons, a unique visual lexicon develops and follows my own stream of consciousness.
